LEWIS PERKINS,President Apparel Impact Institute

Lewis Perkins is the President of the Apparel Impact Institute (AII), an organization launched by leading brands and apparel sector industry associations to select, fund, and scale programs to drive positive impact in the fashion sector. Previous to this Perkins was President of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute (C2CPII) where he led the Institute’s Fashion Positive initiative. Prior to joining the C2CPII, Perkins consulted with corporations and organizations on the social and environmental program development. He also served as Director of Sustainable Strategies for The Mohawk Group, a leading carpet manufacturer and the commercial division of Mohawk Industries. Perkins holds a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington & Lee University. 

MIKE WERNER, Lead for Circular Economy at Google

Mike is Lead for Circular Economy at Google where he leads a cross-functional team focused on achieving their circular economy vision across their operations, products, and supply chains and efforts to enable others to do the same. Previously at Google, Mike also led the product sustainability, biocompatibility, and environmental compliance team for Google’s consumer hardware division. Before joining Google in 2017, Mike led safer chemistry and biocompatibility initiatives at Apple and product sustainability for Haworth Inc, a global contract office furniture manufacturer. Mike has worked in the green building and product design space for 15 years including with renowned green architect Bill McDonough. Mike holds a BS in Chemistry from Villanova University. In addition to serving on the board of directors for the Healthy Building Network, he also serves on advisory boards for several organizations including the Green Science Policy Institute, ChemForward, and Materiom.org. Mike previously served as a sustainability advisor to the Department of Homeland Security and National Institute of Building Sciences.

KIMBERLY SHENK, Co-Founder & CEO of Novi

Kimberly Shenk is the co-founder & CEO of Novi, the first AI driven platform enabling the development of transparent consumer products. Prior to Novi, Kimberly spent her career building and running data science and software product development teams at technology companies, CPG and retail companies, and as a Captain in the US Air Force. She was the technical co-founder of technology startup NakedPoppy, headed software product development at Domino Data Lab, led the Data Science & Business Analytics organization at Eventbrite, and led the data science organization for Air Force Pacific Headquarters as an Air Force Captain at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Kimberly was also a Draper Fellow, working on healthcare related research for Draper Laboratory to include pattern-recognition algorithms for identifying patients at risk for Myocardial Infarction. Kimberly holds a double Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She currently sits on the advisory board of the Data Institute at the University San Francisco and ChemForward.

SARAH VOGEL, PH.D., Vice President Health, Environmental Defense Fund

Sarah works with a team of scientists and policy experts to protect health by reducing exposure to toxic chemicals. She serves on EDF’s Executive Team. Prior to joining EDF, Sarah worked as a Program Officer at the Johnson Family Foundation. At the time, she co-chaired the Health and Environmental Funders Network, a national alliance of foundations working on environmental health issues, and led a working group of funders investing in chemical policy reforms and opportunities for leveraging green chemistry development.
