ChemFORWARD and ChemSec Marketplace Collaborate to Boost Availability of Safer Alternatives

ChemFORWARD and ChemSec Marketplace will collaborate to increase the visibility, availability, and credibility of safer chemical alternatives available to the market.

“We foresee the synergies of this partnership potently accelerating industry adoption of safer alternatives across multiple sectors,” said Stacy Glass, executive director of ChemFORWARD.

ChemFORWARD’s comprehensive assessments of chemical hazards and alternatives complement ChemSec Marketplace’s superlative cataloging and display of available alternatives. This exciting partnership will connect Marketplace’s users to full chemical hazard assessments while also linking ChemFORWARD’s assessments to Marketplace entries.

“We see great potential in aligning the work of Marketplace and ChemFORWARD,” said Dr. Jonatan Kleimark, Marketplace project manager at ChemSec. “Increased knowledge of the chemical properties of alternatives is imperative to avoid regrettable substitution and simplify the substitution process.”

ChemSec is assembling collaborators including ZDHC and GoBlu to expand and elevate the understanding and availability of safer alternatives to hazardous chemicals found in industries from the textile and garment industries to electronics and personal care, packaging, and building materials.
