ChemFORWARD Welcomes Grace Campbell as Research Scientist for Data & Analytics
February 17, 2026 – ChemFORWARD is pleased to announce that Grace Campbell has joined our team as our Research Scientist, Data & Analytics.
In this position, Grace plays a critical role in advancing ChemFORWARD’s mission by transforming complex chemical hazard data into credible, scalable, and actionable insights. This role bridges hazard information, data infrastructure, and product delivery—ensuring that ChemFORWARD’s Data Trust, analytics, and reporting tools support high-quality decision-making for our external stakeholders.
Grace most recently served as a Program Manager at the Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry. There, she led multiple projects to embed environmental justice in California’s Safer Consumer Products alternatives assessment guidance, covering hazard assessment, life-cycle impacts, supply chains, and community engagement, and conducted in-depth alternatives assessments of PFAS in floor polishes and TPhP in nail products, using authoritative toxicology and regulatory data sources.
Continuing her strong focus on PFAS analysis, Grace has contributed to research on safer alternatives to PFAS in firefighter gear and plastics in toothpaste packaging, assessing technical performance and chemical hazards. She has also organized and spoken at national events on PFAS alternatives assessments and science communication, as well as co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on PFAS-free firefighting materials, PFAS contamination in drinking water and sea foam, and ecological studies on airborne and soil-borne pathogens.
"We are thrilled to welcome Grace to our science team. Her expertise in data analytics and her proven ability to leverage complex hazard data in alternatives assessment will be invaluable as we continue to scale the usefulness of the Chemical Hazard Data Trust. Grace’s commitment to environmental justice and technical rigor ensures that we are providing the highest quality insights to help our stakeholders transition to safer chemistry," said Heather McKenney, Director of Science & Safer Chemistry at ChemFORWARD.
Grace holds a Master of Science in Environmental Health Science from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering Science from the UC Berkeley College of Engineering.
Please join us in welcoming Grace Campbell to the team!
